Janet Jackson opens up about about her brother Michael Jackson’s death and other personal struggles – including poor body image – in an interview with Meredith Vieira set to air on “Today” and “Dateline NBC.”
Jackson describes seeing the late King of Pop for the final time, two days before her birthday, and how their last exchange was a mutual expression of love.
Jackson talks about how she’s only truly grieving now, a year and a half after Michael died.
The singer also discusses the toll of low self-esteem over the decades, even after she’d achieved huge success.
“I would literally bang my head up against the wall because I didn’t feel attractive,” says Jackson. “There was a lot of pain in my life… I felt very unattractive.”
The interview can be seen on “Today” on February 11 and 14, and on “Dateline NBC” on February 13.
